C-TPAT APPROVAL

Haines International, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has been certified for C-TPAT by U.S. Customs and Border Protection effective May 18, 2007. C-TPAT is the acronym for Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism. Following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Customs develpoed C-TPAT as a voluntary program together with members of the international trade community to improve protection of the nation's supply chain. We have compiled a security profile that is in compliance with the program's requirements. We will begin screening documents, customers, and business partners to ensure that they are as equally committed to better securing the supply chain and implementing procedures to help promote this security. Importers will be receiving recommendations from us in connection with certain issues that we feel may pose a risk to cargo security. Our service providers will be receiving a security questionnaire regarding their companies' security procedures related to our shipments. Suppliers include, but are not limited to, truckers, freight forwarders, NVOCCs, warehousemen, customs brokers, and overseas agents. If you are a C-TPAT participant, you may locate us on the C-TPAT Security Link Portal (SVI) at c34febe2-b1aa-4f19-8202-36b180a8f93a. Any questions in connection with C-TPAT or any requests for a security questionnaire should be addressed to the program administrator at hainesintchb@aol.com.

ACE APPROVAL

Haines International is proud to announce that it has received its approval from U.S. Customs and Border Protection to participate in the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) effective July 6, 2007. ACE is the Customs computer system that currently remains in development and will replace the current ACS system. This is a large project involving a large amount of Federal funding and various Government agencies and is being phased in periodically. At present, ACE is offered to importers that feel that the program's benefits will be useful to their business and they meet the requirements of having internet access and completing the ACE partnership agreement. Customs waived the requirement that an ACE applicant be a C-TPAT member. The two major benefits of ACE are periodic duty payments and entry reports. In time, more benefits should become available to the trade. The Periodic Monthly Statement allows importers to pay duties and fees on a monthly basis via the ACE portal. Entry reports enable the importer to generate various reports regarding their import shipments.
